About Stoke Fijian Methodist

Our Commitment

The elders at Stoke Fijian Methodist Fellowship, hereafter known as “the leadership,” recognise the critical need to provide a safe and caring environment for children, young people, and adults. We acknowledge that individuals can be victims of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as neglect. We firmly uphold the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant of Human Rights, which state that everyone is entitled to “all the rights and freedoms set forth therein, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status”. We also concur with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which asserts that children should be able to develop their full potential, free from hunger, want, neglect, and abuse. They have an inherent right to be protected from “all forms of physical or mental abuse”.

Our Activities

Our primary aim is to advance the Christian religion in Stoke and the surrounding areas for the benefit of the public. We achieve this through various activities, including holding prayer meetings, delivering lectures, organising public celebrations of religious festivals, and producing and/or distributing literature on the Christian faith to enlighten others about its teachings.

Making a Difference

The Christian Faith is fundamental to the values of our Fellowship. Teaching and demonstrating its message are core activities that bring many of our members into contact with children and vulnerable adults. As such, we provide a wide range of activities for children and adults, such as holding Sunday fellowship meetings, midweek cell groups, coffee mornings, lunches, bible study groups, youth groups, and offering practical help to individuals in need, such as the homeless. Our vision is to foster a community where everyone feels valued, supported, and uplifted.

"Stoke Fijian Methodist provides a vital sense of community and spiritual guidance. Their work truly touches lives."
